ah- HA!!!

ladies- you can now rest! I HAVE FOUND MY SCENT!!!!
SJP
NYC
classic, right! i almost passed it by because i am already silly about her, BUT, i decided that if i do have a crush on SJP, i will probably have a crush on her scent. and i was right- it was love at first sniff. (i have sniffed myself 4 times since starting this post).

i was tempted by a few Bath&BodyWorks scents (most of all WhiteCitrus, which i love love)... But i wanted a real scent- a perfume. it feels more official to me... more of a commitment and a splurge (which it totally turned out to be...YIKES!!!) it is fruity and summer and happy and sweet and yummy.... JUST LIKE ME!

now that i finally got it- i am so happy to have a scent to carry me through the adventures of the summer. and this summer deserves one! a lot has been mended between me&ty.... and not only mended, but we are close... and better friends than ever before perhaps. and all that comes after that is snowballing into goodness. wow- that is amazing and wonderful all by itself. but, we are doing much traveling as well. and when i travel, i tend to lose myself... i get away from home and i forget who i am (the people pleaser returns) but THIS summer, armed with all the inner changes and my spankin' new fragrance, there will be no loss, only me slappin' the faces of all my family and friends will 'fun and wimsey' (that is what sarah jessica said was the inspiration of this fragrance).
SO... when you miss me, which will happen often, stop by a perfume counter and take a wiff of me and my summer!!
i love you guys- i am so grateful for our friendship- it is unique and special- a true treasure of mine!!!

...schpeaking of music...

Photobucket

i've been thinking about my summer soundtrack and i'm very excited to get your guys' fav songs of summers past and then i was thinking that we should make a list of songs that are popular this summer that we love. and then when we look back at this blog we'll have a soundtrack of summer 2010!

for me (amy) thus far:

soul sister by train
billionaire by travie mccoy ft bruno mars (edited version)
i never told you & you got me by colbie caillat (i think she is light and summery)
bulletproof by la roux (this one grew on me)
carry out by timbaland & justin (edited version!)

and we add & edit as we feel the urge... whaddya think?

nicoles additions:
empire state of mind (part II) broken down, by alicia keys
yo (excuse me miss), by chris brown
and more to come...

salena's:
"beautiful girls" by ..amy knows.
"heartbreak warfare" by john mayer
"the show" by lenka
that rihanna & eminem song (edited) is pretty good..i'll look for the title.

summertime in the lbc

okay. so i downloaded the summertime in the lbc today. i used an itunes gift card that tyler got for me, he will hang his head when he knows what my first purchase was!!! it was never meant to purchase such noise!!!
it took me the longest time to figure out what lbc was... i was worried. you know, like, am i singing something naughty and not know it. like, what is the doveshack. is that a naught hut on the beach? what do they do there? i just don't know- YO!
and i decided this is totally amy's song. like, in a movie, when a certain character enters, they have a tune that represents them, gives them an entrance. and this is amys song. i can totally picture amy grooving with her eyes closed. and then busting in on the sexysassy oooooh aaaaaaahhhhhh... summer time in the lbc....
when i hear this song, i will picture you amy- grooving and swaying gfunk-style.
it is now uploaded to my ipod- it will become apart of my soundtrack summer-o-sassiness. by the way ladies- we need to get each other a summer soundtrack! i am working on mine as you read this and will deliver the tunes asap- SUMMER HAS ARRIVED- we need the soundtrack to match! i love you ladies- you are the umbrella in my yummy drink!

the fire of the covenant

i am halfway through the fire of the covenant, salena's must-read for the summer. and, i just noticed that it is due back to the library on the 23rd... so i am hoping to finish it by then. i have loved it, as expected. and in salena's grand tradition, i will be casting the movie once i have finished the book. jesse brannan will of course be maggie- i couldn't resist!!!
july 24th (pioneer day) will be a big to-do this year for my family- i can't help but feel immense gratitude and awe for this story. it must be celebrated!
AND- i thought it would be a cool fhe to have a weigh in. like, pretend that we are going to be headed west, and all we can take is 17lbs each, and even less for the kids. i could have them gather what they would need to take and we could talk about all that we would leave behind- and tell the grand story of the pioneers. and talk about how grateful we are for what we have. i am swept away by this story! thanks for the challenge sister salena.

...um, ok??...

essence,2010,confused
shooo, salena, i just watched hush. hmmm...

*spoiler alert*

why is that boy SO oblivious? most people know that their mother's are crazy and yet this dude who really has psycho mom can't tell?

and i don't really get gwyneth, is she hot?

then grandma is all "you need to watch out for martha." ok, how about "martha is freakin' psychotic, and if you leave her maybe you should worry about her murdering you." now, that would be a head's up!

salena, i love you and i do have to admit that i was entertained, but i would like to know why this is your favorite summer movie. i did think the son was pretty cute though, i like my men dark...ok, my man i mean. and maybe not dark, but definitely toasty. (and NOT like above, only maybe 1/4 of like above.) lol...

...the wicked witch of the west would NEVER live here...

SHAVE ICE, SHAVED ICE, SNO CONE! eSSeNCe #13 Complete.
Photobucket
the wicked witch of the west, or www, as i like to refer to her, melts from a bucket of water?? try 100 degree weather at 10 in the morning you psycho house wearer! (please refer to time stamp to explain strange blogging behavior.)

well thank goodness for shave ice! salena introduced me to bahama bucks and i feel a little bit disloyal to my island heritage because this bahama buck dude is definitely not polynesian and yet he has mastered the shave ice art, and i may love him more than mr. matsumoto (famous hawaii shave ice-er) i try to balance my traitorous feeling by always ordering coconut flavoring.

...wanna see my balloons?...

WATER FIGHT! eSSeNCe #28 Complete.
Photobucket
250 balloons, 3 adults, 6 kids, 2 tubs, 1 pair of goggles, 100 degrees, and 1 act of bribery...adds up to a happy summer essence memory!
Photobucket
the last time i filled this many water balloons (about 7 days previous, but i forgot my camera so it technically never happened) i injured my tying finger! so this time i improved my tying technique and 175 balloons later i came out relatively unscathed. pretty soon i'll be able to tie balloons one handed while dancing a jig! i know you want to see me dance a jig...wait for it.

...amy, where the h are you?!...

i'm here, i'm here!
Photobucket
so it's hard for me to do this blogging thing. i'm so out of practice! but please don't look at it as a reflection of my love for you because it's not! japanese people don't lie. ;)

i love you long time! (so not poetic, but my peeps originated it & i'm going with it)

...ok, i've been on this blog for over and hour and i rescind my previous statement. apparently my love is reflected by how much i'm now on this thing!...

the creepiest movie EVER!

as listed on salena's movie list for the summer, i watched hush. completely the creepiest movie i have ever seen. i know, i know, that movie is weak sauce for you two, but for ME, it was terrifying. i love love jessica lange (jessica lange was in 'men don't leave' a long time ago- with a very young chris o'donnell and amazing joan cusack. i always remember that movie as being so well acted- ), and the son/husband looks strangely & exactly like my brother-in-law (it was nice to see him) and gweneth is always good. and i was totally dying the whole time, like on the edge of my seat, re-locking the doors.... i was completely creeped and in suspense. it was good and terrible at the same time. i will never watch it again. ever. but while i did, i was glued.
SO- i give it a thumbs way up and a thumbs way down.
i will now forever be creeped out by 'hush little baby...'
but in a good way.
